Another beauty made for Parish Episcopal School Gala with a repeat of the theme: Big & Bright. Another opportunity to play with stars!  Again, this is a collaborative art piece l made together with students at the Panther Nation Block Party.  It began with a very large roll of paper and an assortment of watercolor and tempera paint sticks.  I blended the graffiti style that emerged from the students efforts with complimentary washes of color, before cutting.  The result: bold and colorful stars. Inspired by the Milky Way arch over a West Texas sky, I carefully layered hundreds of paper stars, moving between deep blues and purples, luminescent pinks and turquoise, and finally warm reds and oranges of a quickly fading twilight.
